How many photos do I need to upload?
Just one selfie. You can add up to 5 for slightly better results, but one clear, well-lit photo is enough. Most competitors require 10 to 30 photos and 30 to 120 minutes of training. How to take a good selfie.
What AI model does FreeHeadshot use?
Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Image. It reads your face directly from one photo, so there's no per-user model training. FreeHeadshot is an independent service and is not affiliated with Google LLC. See how it works.

Do I need to create an account?
No. The free tier works with no signup. Paid tiers ask for an email at checkout so we can send your receipt and let you re-download from your gallery.

Is this a subscription?

How do I remove the watermark?
Upgrade to any paid tier. The watermark is only on the free Walk-In tier; Snapshot, Studio Session, and Master Studio all deliver clean, watermark-free images.
Privacy & safety
Are my photos safe and private?
Yes. Your source photo is processed in memory only and is never written to disk. We don't retain face embeddings, never train AI on user faces, and never share photos with any third party. Do you train AI on my face?
No, never. The model we run was built by Google long before you uploaded anything. Your selfie is used only for your generation request and is never added to any training set.
Who can see the photo I upload?
Only Google's Gemini API, which performs the generation, ever sees the bytes. Your photo is not sent to our payment, email, or analytics vendors. Data Processing Agreement.
Quality & usage
Can I use AI headshots on LinkedIn?
Yes. LinkedIn has no policy against AI-generated profile photos. Our outputs are built for LinkedIn, company team pages, resumes, and email signatures. Are AI headshots professional?
Can recruiters tell my headshot is AI?
A good one is hard to spot, but a bad one (over-smoothed skin, glassy eyes, off jawline) is obvious. We post-process to keep real skin texture and the prompt forbids beautifying, so results read as real photos. The honest data.
Why do some AI headshots look fake, and why don't yours?

Can I use an AI headshot for a passport or ID?
No. Government IDs require an unedited photograph. AI headshots are for LinkedIn, websites, resumes, social media, press kits, and email signatures.
Can I generate headshots for my whole team?
