Egypt's 40 × 60 mm passport photo is a distinctive size — larger than the global ICAO standard. The format is shared with the Egyptian national ID card, Egyptian driving licence, and visa application photos for foreign countries (when applying from Egypt). One photo session every 5-7 years covers all three documents.

Pure white background is required. Cairo and Alexandria photo studios offer compliant 40 × 60 mm photos for EGP 30-100 with same-day printing. Most studios cluster around the Mogamma in Tahrir Square and the regional passport offices.
