Turkey's 50 × 60 mm passport photo is uniquely Turkish — neither matching the European 35 × 45 mm nor the US 51 × 51 mm. The format was set when the biometric passport launched in 2010 and has been preserved across multiple passport redesigns. The same size works for the Kimlik (national ID card) and the Turkish driving licence.

Applications run through e-Devlet (Turkey's e-Government platform). You initiate the application online, pay the fee, book a biometric appointment at your local nüfus müdürlüğü (population directorate), attend in person for biometric capture, and collect the new passport at the same office 5-10 working days later.

Pure white background is required. Turkish photo studios charge TRY 100-300 for compliant 50 × 60 mm photos. Most studios cluster around nüfus müdürlüğü offices and offer 5-minute printing.
